With the increasing use of UDIM or multi-tile based texturing applications, a common issue keeps popping up in my email and comments: How to fix overlapping UV tiles when exporting characters with geografts from Daz Studio? In this video, I cover all the steps needed to move the uv shells into whatever configuration you require using Daz Studio 4.12 and Blender 2.90. The example shown is using Genesis 8 Male and the male anatomy, however the same techniques will work for any base character and geograft attachment. In fact, you can use the same import and export methods to create completely new and custom uv sets too! Geografts are a Daz Studio specific feature that allows parts of a character model to be replaced seamlessly with a different piece of geometry. Examples include Genesis 8 Male or Female gentials, various wing sets, horns, prosthetics, etc. This video shows how to bypass issues created when exporting geografts for use in texturing software.

In this 3ds Max QUICK TIP, I show which settings to change to make previews of procedural maps in the material editor be displayed at the correct scale and therefore match your rendering output and viewport display. This helps immensely when doing any work with procedurals in the material editor. As the video shows, the updated settings will display the procedurals correctly in both the Compact Material Editor and the Slate Material Editor.
